| Eva Sippel happens to be the only girl in this critics ensemble. She also happens to be the cutest. She takes her job as movie goer and couch critic extraordinairily seriously as she does books, food, sex.....heck everything. She's German. Vhat you expect? Eva has a keen sense of organization and therefore needs a tight script for a movie to work. She prefers a linear structure to non-linear because: "Those make me nervous, like modern classical music." Her favorite movie of all time is Terry Gilliam's Brazil, closely followed by Citizen Kane, Bringing Up Baby and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. As for "newer" movies, she likes Godfather 2, Dog Day Afternoon and Breaking Away. Could she be stuck in the 70's? Quick, do the hustle!!!! Leaving the time warp behind, she also thinks Braveheart and American Beauty "simply rock!" Her favorite movie genre is film noir. She's seen 'em all and challenges you to an open discussion on the matter. Two of her favorites are the classic Double Indemnity and the Cohen Brothers' Blood Simple. She considers most movies Hollywood turns out these days "pure crap" and keeps asking everyone "to raise the bar" and "up the common denominator." Apparently nobody's been listening to her, and that's why she so generously agreed to partake in this show. One thing she would like to get straightened out with Bill before they start, however, is that no matter what he thinks, The Fifth Element is an excellent movie. Jawohl!!!!! Besides critiquing movies, Eva writes screenplays, short stories and poetry. Her first book, Breathing In, was published last year. She also teaches and works as a private tutor to bring "German to the people!", as she so gently puts it. I'm sure her intentions are honorable. You can visit her website at www.schnuffie.com. |
